Nothing about picking up the phone and calling is easy. However, healing starts with a compassionate approach to interventions, beginning the process alongside not just an intervention professional, but with the education necessary to support a loved one’s comprehensive journey to wellness.

What to Expect From Our Compassionate Intervention Services

Many individuals and families who reach out to Reflection Family Interventions have already tried various solutions. That’s why our professional interventionists take the time to understand your unique situation, offering a fresh perspective through compassionate family intervention services available nationwide.

We believe meaningful change begins when the situation is seen through a new lens. By uniting your family’s support with our experience in addiction intervention, mental health, and substance use disorder care, we help create powerful, lasting breakthroughs.

Our process:

  • Confidential consultation: A private, compassionate conversation to learn what’s happening, assess urgency, and identify immediate needs. We listen to your history, review prior efforts, and clarify goals before any action.
  • Family preparation: We educate the family, establish a unified plan, and set expectations for possible responses. This includes developing communication strategies, addressing stigma and misunderstandings, and preparing to challenge unhealthy dynamics like codependency.
  • Facilitated intervention and transition: We lead the intervention conversation and coordinate an appropriate treatment or stabilization plan, guiding crisis moments, managing logistics, and connecting your loved one to suitable care for a safe, timely transition.
  • Six months of family recovery coaching: After transition, we provide ongoing coaching to support boundaries, communication, treatment coordination, and reintegration into the family.

We also work with families to explore how addiction and mental health challenges have impacted overall wellness and supports, offering recovery-focused guidance throughout the process. Together, we’ll work tirelessly to help you navigate the journey toward lasting transformation and healing.

Our Story as Family Intervention Specialists

A Family-Centered Approach to Mental Health & Addiction Intervention Services

Reflection Family Interventions is a family-owned and family-led organization built on decades of professional experience and a deeply personal understanding of what families go through in crisis. Our work is shaped not only by evidence-based practice, but by knowing firsthand how painful, confusing, and overwhelming it can feel when someone you love is struggling with addiction or mental health challenges.

Over the years, we noticed that many intervention models focus almost entirely on the individual, leaving families feeling unsure, exhausted, and unsupported. We built Reflection Family Interventions to change that. As family intervention specialists, we believe families are not the problem, but a great source of strength and change when they are supported with care, honesty, and clarity.

Our approach is both compassionate and highly professional. We walk with families through some of the most painful and uncertain moments of their lives, offering steady guidance and support groups when everything feels overwhelming. Picking up the phone is challenging, but it is just the beginning of change. Reflection Family Interventions stays with families long after that first step, helping them move forward with support, consistency, and hope.

We are also deeply committed to advancing the field of family intervention by designing and refining our own family-centered models, tools, and methods, combining research, real-world experience, and innovation to better serve families. Reflection Family Interventions doesn’t just follow existing models; we build better ones.

We have walked with families through some of their hardest moments and watched them grow into stronger, healthier systems. At Reflection Family Interventions, change does not require hitting rock bottom. Instead, it begins the moment a family decides they are ready to move forward together.

Hear From Our Founders: What Intervention Really Looks Like

If someone you love is struggling with addiction or a mental health disorder, you don’t have to face it alone. Reflection Family Interventions founders Andrew and Shahar Engbring, recently featured on ABC15, share what a professionally led intervention actually looks like: calm, structured, open, and focused on healing the entire family, not just the individual. Watch to learn more about how we can help your family take the first step forward.

Connecting Families to Appropriate Care

Addiction and mental illness require focused care and steady support. Reflection Family Interventions links families with appropriate treatment options nationwide while helping them develop the skills to support recovery and cope with the ongoing effects of substance use and mental health disorders.

Our professional family interventionists offer expert guidance for drug interventions, alcohol interventions, and co‑occurring mental health issues. We provide compassionate, individualized interventions and six months of family recovery coaching to strengthen communication, establish healthy boundaries, coordinate treatment, and support reintegration.

Recognizing the need for discretion, we also provide concierge intervention services that deliver private, hands‑on care coordination and support for families seeking confidentiality and tailored support.

FAQs

Can an intervention work if my loved one refuses help?

Yes. A loved one does not need to be willing before the family begins preparing for an intervention. Resistance, denial, and fear are common when someone is struggling with addiction or a mental health disorder. Through careful preparation, a structured conversation, and clear family boundaries, willingness can often be developed. Although no interventionist can guarantee that someone will accept help, the process allows the family to stop waiting and begin creating meaningful change.

A successful family intervention begins long before the conversation itself. The family must understand the situation, identify unhealthy patterns, agree on clear and sustainable boundaries, anticipate likely responses, and create a plan for both treatment acceptance and refusal. Appropriate treatment options should also be researched and coordinated in advance so the family is prepared to act if their loved one accepts help.

Success should not be measured only by whether someone says yes that day. Treatment acceptance is an important opportunity, but long-term healing also depends on treatment engagement, continued family support, healthier dynamics, and what happens after the intervention.

Working with a professional provides the family with structure, education, and objective guidance during an emotionally difficult process. At Reflection Family Interventions, we continue supporting the family for six months after the intervention, helping remove barriers to care, strengthening boundaries, navigating treatment, and preparing for healthy family reintegration.

Our process includes an initial assessment, family education, intervention planning, treatment research and coordination, preparation meetings, and a professionally facilitated intervention. If treatment is accepted, we help coordinate the transition into the selected program.

Unlike many intervention providers, our work does not end after the intervention. Reflection Family Interventions includes six months of comprehensive family recovery coaching with every facilitated intervention. We continue supporting and guiding the family, whether their loved one accepts help immediately or initially says no.

Our ongoing family services include education, communication coaching, healthier boundaries, support through treatment challenges, coordination with providers, and preparation for family reintegration. The intervention is one important moment, but our larger goal is to help the entire family create lasting change.

A “no” does not mean never, it means not today. Unlike many intervention providers, our work does not end when the intervention conversation is over. Reflection Family Interventions includes six months of comprehensive family recovery coaching, and we continue supporting and guiding the family even when a loved one initially refuses care.

Together, we explore what may be driving the refusal, identify and remove practical or emotional barriers, and look for ways to make treatment feel safer, more appropriate, and more achievable. At the same time, we help the family begin its own healing by changing unhealthy patterns, establishing supportive boundaries, and responding differently to the crisis. These changes can create new opportunities for willingness to develop while allowing the family to move forward, even if their loved one is not ready today.

A family can attempt an intervention without professional support, but most families understandably approach the conversation with one immediate goal: getting their loved one to say yes to treatment. Treatment acceptance matters, but a “yes” on the day of the intervention is not, by itself, a reliable measure of long-term success. Someone can accept treatment and leave shortly afterward, while someone who initially refuses may become willing as the family continues changing its approach.

Our process is designed around long-term healing rather than a single decision. We assess the situation, prepare family members, explore barriers to care, coordinate appropriate treatment options, and develop a plan for both acceptance and refusal. We then provide six months of comprehensive family recovery coaching to support healthier boundaries, treatment engagement, family healing, and eventual reintegration.

For families who prefer to lead the conversation themselves, we also offer coached interventions that provide professional planning, education, and ongoing guidance without an interventionist facilitating the meeting.

The timeline depends on the family’s circumstances, level of urgency, and whether treatment or stabilization services need coordination. Some interventions can be arranged within 24-48 hours, while others benefit from additional preparation. During the initial consultation, we assess the situation and explain the safest and most appropriate next steps.
